Jennifer B. Akins, M.D., FACOG

Education: Dr. Akins completed her undergraduate training at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and received her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency at the Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Licensure and Board Certification: Dr. Akins is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her special areas of expertise include Obstetrics, Gynecology, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Menopause.

Academic & Administrative Appointments: Dr. Akins practices at Chester County OB/GYN Associates and has offices in West Chester and Kennett Square.

Alan M. Askinas M.D., FACOG

Education: Dr. Askinas completed his undergraduate training at Northwestern University, Illinois and received his medical degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine, in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his residency at Tulane University, Charity Hospital, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His special areas of expertise include Obstetrics, Gynecology, Gynecologic Surgery, Laparoscopy and Infertility.

Licensure and Board Certification: Dr. Askinas is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

William Robert Atkins, M.D., FACOG

Education: Dr. Atkins completed his undergraduate training at Boston College Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His special areas of expertise include PMS pelvic pain, Vaginal Surgery, and Urogynecology.

Licensure and Board Certification: Dr. Atkins is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Academic & Administrative Appointments: Dr. Atkins is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

Awards & Honors: In addition to being a three time recipient of the United States Army Commendation Medal, Dr. Atkins has also been honored with the Residents Teaching Award from Pennsylvania Hospital.

Robert M. Friedman, M.D., FACOG

Education: Dr. Friedman completed his undergraduate training at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York and received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, New York, New York. He completed his residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His special areas of expertise include General Obstetrics, Laparoscopic Surgery and Cervical Colposcopy.

Licensure and Board Certification: Dr. Friedman is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.

Awards & Honors: Dr. Friedman's academic awards include the Thomas R. Boggs Award, for clinical excellence during Internship in Neonatal Intensive Care, Pennsylvania Hospital; The Spingold Scholar Award, Cornell University; The Teagle Scholar Award, Cornell University and the Graduate of Distinction Award, Cornell University.

Morrie G. Gold, M.D., FACOG

Education:
Dr. Gold completed his undergraduate training at State University of New York at Buffalo, New York and his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, New York. He completed a residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His areas of special expertise include Gynecologic Care, Menopause, Minimally Invasive Surgery, and Endoscopic Surgery.

Licensure and Board Certification: Dr. Gold is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Academic & Administrative Appointments: Dr. Gold is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and has received the Resident Teaching Award from Pennsylvania Hospital.

Dianne DeMichiel Hotmer, M.D., FACOG

Education: Dr. Hotmer completed her undergraduate training in Chemistry and Biology at West Chester University, West Chester, Pennsylvania and received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her internship was conducted at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and she completed her residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania also in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Licensure and Board Certification: Dr. Hotmer is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Urogynecologic Society and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.

Academic & Administrative Appointments: Dr. Hotmer is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

Pamela Henrich Kurey M.D., FACOG

Education: Dr. Kurey completed her undergraduate training in biology and fine arts at Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania and received her Master's of Science in Anatomy and medical degree from Hahnemann University Medical School, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency at Lankenau Hospital, Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Her special areas of interests are high-risk obstetrics, laproscopy, and adolescent gynecology.

Licensure and Board Certification: Dr. Kurey is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Richard J. Mansfield, M.D., FACOG

Education: Dr. Mansfield completed his undergraduate training at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology at the University of Maryland, in Baltimore. He has special expertise in High-Risk Pregnancy, Infertility, Advanced Operative Laparoscopy and Urogynecology.

Lydia G. Slavish, M.D., FACOG

Education: Dr. Slavish completed her undergraduate training at Lehigh University, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University, Hershey, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency at Wright State University Hospital, in Dayton, Ohio. Her special interests include general and high-risk obstetrics and adolescent gynecology.

Licensure and Board Certification: Dr. Slavish is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Academic & Administrative Appointments: Dr. Slavish is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

Beth D. Carney, M.S.N., C.R.N.P.

Ms. Carney completed her undergraduate training in nursing at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received her Masters in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania where her focus of study was on Women's Health Care. Her internship rotation included Women's Health Care in Pottstown, Pennsylvania; the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Family Planning Clinic, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Christiana Care Health Services High Risk OB Outpatient Unit in Delaware.

Bonnie Graff, M.S.N., Ph.D., C.R.N.P.

Ms. Graff has been a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner since 1986. She completed her undergraduate training in nursing at Bloomsburg University, Pennsylvania and received her Masters and Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she performed clinical research and taught in the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program.

Gail Pickett, C.R.N.P.

Ms. Pickett has been a Certified Nurse Pracitioner since 1989. She completed her undergraduate training in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she also received her Nurse Practitioner certification. Ms. Pickett is certified by the National Certification Corporation for Obsterics, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialists in Women's Health Care.

Susanne Richards, C.R.N.P.

Ms. Richards has been a Certified Nurse Practitioner since 2004. She completed her undergraduate training in nursing at Georgetown University and received her Masters as a Women's Health Care Nurse Practioner from The University of Pennsylvania. She has also been a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing to Masters students of Women's Health Care.

Karen Wood, C.R.N.P.

Ms. Wood completed her undergraduate training at the Chester County School of Nursing in  West Chester.  She attended the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Program.  Ms. Wood is a certified Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner through the National Certification program.  Ms. Wood’s clinical experience includes pediatrics, labor and delivery, school nursing and home health care.  For the past fifteen years she has worked exclusively in women’s health care.

Marie Theresa Ziegler, M.S.N., C.R.N.P.

Ms. Ziegler completed her undergraduate training in nursing and received her Masters of Nursing from State University of New York at Buffalo, New York. She is a certified Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner through the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nurses, and is a member of the Southern Chester County Nurse Practitioners Association.
